Types of Massage for Ailments, Aches, and Pains.
There are many different types of massage that are available for
different types of ailments, aches, and pains.
The most common type of massage is the relaxation massage that
is used to induce an overall sense of relaxation. This relaxing
type of massage can also be used to improve the circulation in
your body as well as give you some temporary relief from sore
muscles.
Another type of massage is called the paramedical massage. This
massage deals with the soft tissues in your body that has been
injured, many times in a sport's injury. A trained massage
therapist will be able to perform techniques on you that will
aid in your recovery from soft tissue damage. Many times the
recovery time of an injury will be lessened if you are able to
combine massage therapy with other treatment.
Another type of massage is known as aromatherapy massage. This
type of massage combines a relaxing massage with the use of
essential oils, many of which have some healing properties.
Aromatherapy is used in many spas around the country as a great
way to induce relaxation while at the same time relieving
muscles of soreness and stiffness.
Reflexology is yet another form of massage that is very popular.
The massage therapist uses his or her fingers to place pressure
on certain points of your feet. These points of your feet are in
correspondence with certain areas of the body. Reflexology is
most often used to attain a sense of balance
Oriental types of massage are also very popular. There are
different types of oriental massage, such as shiatsu and
acupressure. Both these massage methods focus on the points in
the body that are located on the pressure meridians. The goal of
oriental massage is to achieve balance and harmony in the body
and bring about an overall sense of well being.
