my dog is arthritic, what should I do?
My dog seems to have difficulty getting up and down, and I don’t know what to do. I think he has arthritis in his legs. Any suggestions on what to give him?

My dog is 15 has lost weight thanks to our homemade dog food is on Metacam for arthritis but I wanted to know if there is anything else I can do? His hips give out on him he exercises and I want to do what ever I can to help him
I can’t do much that involves impact — walking, running, calisthenics are all out, but I’ve done yoga in the past. Would there be any benefit to trying exercises that don’t involve the knees — are there any, in fact?
My horse has been off the track since May 2009. He started back November 2009 and is worked 5 x a week and jumped 2 times. He has been fine, but now he is dropping his RH and it is in fact, his hock as I did xrays and he has arthritic changes and his stifles are thinning. What should his next career be? I believe it’s in his best interest to retire from jumping completely.
One knee is fine, the other is not. When I ride, however gently, I feel pain in the bad knee. Isn’t exercise supposed to be good for arthritis?
She prescribed 400 mg. Ibuprofen a day and exercise along with a cortizone shot in the affected area. I’ve always heard NSAIDS taken regularly can cause liver damage and that cortizone shots can actually cause deterioration of joints, so I’m leary of starting this. I would like to hear from others who have this dilemma when it comes to treatment of osteoarthritis.
Our dog, Tara, a collie, is nine years old and has arthritis. In the summer we give her Sea Jerky (glucosamine chondroitin) which works quite well, but once the cold weather arrives it’s harder for her to maneuver around the house comfortably, especially going up and down the stairs. What kind of natural remedies can we use to keep her comfortable (and mobile)?
Also, any suggestions for bedding or anything else would be great.
I have a big, old, arthritic dog. His condition has improved greatly since the Previcox/Glucosamine regimen, but I’m considering getting him one of those telescoping ramps, specifically to help with getting him in and out of my car. Any info/opinions of these ramps would be appreciated. Thank you! btw he weighs about 85 pounds.
