My doctor prescribed me Arthritec (sp) for Osteoarthritis. I’ve been taking Diclofenac, but it doesn’t seem to work. I’m a 47 year old woman and my doc says my osteoarthritis is that of a 70 yr old person. It has (and still is) caused me so much pain and mostly neurological problems. I’ve had a few surgeries in various places in the past 11 months alone. Can anyone identify with this disease? Please email me via Y!Answers for more information.
Gosh, these are great answers. to cowboydoc, I’m sorry and I feel your pain. I’ve had a cage put in my C5-C6 & C6-C7 spine along with bones grafted from my hip. There is permanent nerve damage running down from my neck to my left hand and now my hand is partially paralyzed, meaning I have a weak closing reflex - but no opening reflex. The muscles are now gone in that hand and wrist. I have degenerative spine disease and I’m in constant pain. I took 500mg of Neurontin for a long while, but it didn’t phase it. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand a couple of months ago, now they say I need it on my left. I also have scoliosis in my mid to lower spine. To look at me, you’d think I was the healthiest 47 yr old around, but only my docs and my husband know the kid of pain I truly am in. I’ve worked in the criminal justice system for 23 yrs and I’ve been off on sick leave for the last 12 months. If not for hubby, I’d be in a state of severe depression.

My husbands niece just found out she has Rheumatoid Arthritis & my husbands dad has it also. My father-in-law just told me his dad had some form of Arthritis. When should I be concerned if my son has it? When can they start tests to see if has it? Thanks in advance for your answers!

CNN ran a good story about Pfizer a few weeks ago. It was titled "Too Big To Nail". Pfizer was pushing a drug they knew was harmful (Bextra). And then to make even more money from this harmful drug, they pushed their pharmaceutical reps to bribe doctors to double the dosage of the harmful drug. They figured they could make twice as much money by billing Medicare and Medicaid for 40 mg of the drug instead of 20 mg of the drug. All in the name of profit. Patients died as a result. Pfizer was only fined three moths of profit. None of the Pfizer management went to prison for murder. No CEO’s were imprisoned. So I ask you, is it ethical for a business to push a product they know will be harmful so they can make a profit to satisfy the shareholders? Is it ethical for the upper management of a corporation to push a dangerous product so they can have bigger salaries and bonuses? How are these CEO’s different from drug dealers on the street who sell harmful drugs to their customers?

For the past 5-6 weeks my joints have been very achey (fingers/hands, wrists, shoulders, upper vertebrae, tailbone area, knees, & ankles). Pretty much, everything hurts and I am feeling kind of fatigued, but have also been working a lot. IThe pain is not such excrutiating pain (probably about a 5-6 on a scale of 1-10 depending upon the day), but more off a dull pain or extreme discomfort. I often feel stiff, expecially after waking up or sitting for extended periods and having trouble getting comfortable. After sitting for extended periods it is hard for me to straighten my body right away. It seems to vary in intensity, but a lot of times my hands hurt most. I am a 26 year old slightly overweight (about 15-20 lbs) female who has never had any severe medical problems. Do you think that this is something that I should go to the doctor for, or are there any otc remedies that you know of? Have you ever experienced anything of the sort. Is there a "diagnosis?"

Need I remind you of the Bayer case, in which the FDA knowingly approved the sale of H.i.V infected Factorate first to Americans, then shipped it over seas after Lawyers in American stopped the sale? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS3mhjt7TrY
Then there’s the Vioxx Tragedy - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4560812498287717332&q=vioxx&hl=en
They continue to turn a blind eye to Aspartame

I also ask, do you think the recent poising of Pet Food, right before the passing of the new Senate Bill S.1082 - is a coincidence? The Bill was introduced months before the contamination, and the pet deaths came at an awfully convenient time for Big Pharma now didn’t it?
